Gerhana Skacinta
The name Gerhana Skacinta was a spontaneous idea by Edy who was hardly thinking of a name for his Blue Beat band. The idea was to have a classic name for the band.
Gerhana Skacinta was formed by Edy with his current line up; Rejab (trombone), Widy (main vocal), Bakri (drum), Jalud (E-bass and upright bass), Didi (guitar), Fairus (piano and organ) and Edy himself as trumpeter and vocal.
The line-up of Gerhana Skacinta included Bijan (keyboard), Acong (bass), Rudy (drum) and Chiwok (2 nd trombone) with the rest as mentioned above. About half a year later, Rudy and Bijan had to leave the band to further their studies. Rudy's position was then replaced by Olie, ex-member of Republic of Brickfields , Carburetor Dung and Silent Death. As soon as he joined the band, Olie introduced Edy to a young and talented Fairus who was a freelance musician, to replace Bijan. Then, Pian, who's a friend to Edy joined Gerhana Skacinta casually fulfill the band's need for a percussionist.
Within a short period of time, Gerhana Skacinta built their own empire and countless fans demanded for them to record an album.
